9.30-12.30 pm Morning Workshop Taking the Next Step in ePortfolio Implementation, Dr Christine Slade, Priscilla Trahar, University of the Sunshine Coast & Alison Poot, PebblePad The aim of this workshop is to facilitate the next stage of ePortfolio implementation in your institution using a toolkit of Viewpoint cards, wallcharts and activities. Based on 10 years of successful ePortfolio implementation and external validation by advice published by JISC and the Catalyst for Learning project, the toolkit addresses difficult issues in Vision and scoping; Planning and design; Implementing and supporting; Policy and strategy; Principles and pedagogy: and Access and integration. The workshop facilitators, who are recent winners of a Platinum LearnX Award for eLearning Widespread Adoption of ePortfolios, will guide you through the toolkit’s core activities, alongside colleagues with similar implementation aspirations. Learning Technologists, Project Managers and Heads of Departments with responsibility for the ePortfolio implementation should attend.  We recommend that at least 2 people from each institution participate if possible. This workshop is relevant to any ePortfolio implementation.
9.30-12.30 pm Morning Workshop What can I do with my eportfolio after formal education and training? Allison Miller, Vanguard Visions Research shows (Leeson, 2011) that learners are much more likely to engage in the use of an eportfolio to support their formal education and training if they know that they will be able to use their eportfolio for beyond their course.  Thinking about how learners will be able to use and access their eportfolio beyond their studies is very important, but it also a difficult issue to solve for many institutions.

This hands-on workshop will look at why learners should be using their eportfolio beyond formal study and what they can do with their eportfolio.  It will also look at how they can get their eportfolio out of a formal institution’s system and where they can house it.  The workshop will be a combination of ideas from the workshop facilitator’s experience, as well as draw on the questions and experiences of the participants in the workshop which will lead to new ideas, solutions and questions.

12.30 pm Lunch Provided if attending morning and afternoon workshops
1.30-4.30 pm Afternoon Workshop Using Mahara to develop Life-Long Learning Skills via collaboration through peer review, Marie B Fisher & Andrew Hill, Australian Catholic University In this session you will learn:

How to introduce ePortfolio as a Personal Learning Environment (PLE) for your students in order to engage them in the process of acquiring knowledge, skills and attributes by integrating it into their learning strategies, instead of condemning it to a static repository for completed work.

1.30-4.30 pm Afternoon Workshop More than just what you have learnt: your ePortfolio = learnt + love + created, Christine Loughlin, content.Ed courses An ePortfolio can be much more than simply a place to collect information and catalogue evidence of skills and knowledge learnt. It provides the ideal forum for users to explore their passions, ideas and beliefs as a result of reflections of their learning.

By developing a clear sense of their interests and believes, people will be better able to identify their career aspirations and empowered to pursue their passions, as it is the things we believe in, that provide our point of difference.

In this fast moving, practical workshop, participants will be introduced to a number of techniques to help explore and develop a strong professional brand and communicate their point of difference through their ePortfolio.   An action-packed introduction to where business, learning and creativity collide – showcasing: Larry Smith’s Six Word Memoir; Adam Leipzig’s Know Your Life’s Purpose in Five Minutes’; system thinking; design thinking; and business visualisation techniques.
