The call for proposals for the 2014 Eportfolio Forum and Workshops is now closed. For more information contact: eportfoliosaustralia@gmail.com
Submissions available were:
- poster (A0 static presentation which is pinned up at the Forum)
- 20×20 presentation (6-7 mins presentation made up of 20 slides x 20 secs)
- short workshop (45 mins hands-on/interactive session)
- facilitate a professional conversation (lead a 20 min group discussion around a topic)
at the 2014 Eportfolio Forum on 2 October at La Trobe University
AND/OR
Running a half-day, hands-on workshop on 1 October at La Trobe University (computer labs available)
Call for proposal timeline:
- Monday 1 April – Open call for proposals
- Monday 19 May – Close call for proposals
- Tuesday 10 June – Notify outcome of call for proposal submissions
Proposal themes:
Proposals follow one or more of the following themes:
Eportfolio use in formal education
ie presentations about using e-portfolios within formal education and training, for example:
- Learning and assessment
- Self-directed learning
- Reflective thinking
- Tracking learner development / progress / parent communication
- Professional placement and/or students on practicum (ie WIL, work experience/work placement)
- Communication around practicum – student, educator, supervisor
- Recognition of prior learning / skills recognition / credit
- Badges
- Tracking student progress course-wide
Eportfolio use beyond formal education
ie presentations about using e-portfolios in non-formal education and training, for example:
- Gaining employment, for example: demonstrating graduate capabilities etc
- In the workplace, for example: managing professional development / performance appraisals etc
- Continuing professional development (CPD)
- Accreditation or demonstrating professional standards
- Extra-curricular activities
- Alumni and institutional programs
Eportfolio use from the user’s or learner’s perspective
- Student/User stories – how are they actually using an eportfolio?
- Staff – how are they using eportfolios to support their professional/on-going learning
- Frameworks for developing critical reflection
- Professional eportfolios / showcase eportfolios
- Tips and tricks on supporting / helping eportfolios users
- Helping users move their eportfolio from one system to another
- Student mentor programs
- Careers programs
- Eportfolios for research projects
Eportfolio learning design and implementation
- Holistic course design to incorporate eportfolios
- Continual use across a course
- Assessing eportfolios
- Selecting and implementing eportfolio systems
- ePortfolio as process – technology independent
- Reflection Models
Proposals not falling under these sub-themes could have been submitted for consideration, but should justify how the proposal complements the main theme of ‘Moving Forward’.
