The call for proposals for the 2017 Eportfolio Forum on 20-21 September at Monash College and University, Melbourne is now closed.  For more information, please contact eportfoliosaustralia@gmail.com

Submissions were being called for:

  • Poster – A0 static presentation which is pinned up at the Forum (both days)
  • Short (peer reviewed paper) presentation – 15 min presentation + 5 min Q&A – published peer reviewed paper (20 Sept) – click here to download the Short (peer reviewed) presentation paper – Style Guide
  • 20×20 presentation  6-7 mins presentation consisting of 20 slides which run for 20 secs each on day one (20 Sept)
  • Short workshop – 40 mins hands-on/interactive session (21 Sept)
  • Facilitate a professional conversation – lead a group discussion around a topic during the ‘Ideas Exchange’ working lunch (21 Sept) – no presentation slides permitted
  • Long workshop – 2.25 hr hands-on/interactive session  (21 Sept)

Call for proposal timeline:

  • 30 March – Open call for proposals
  • 26 May – Close call for proposals
  • Week beginning 12 June – Notify outcome of call for proposal submissions (including notification of invitation to submit a peer reviewed paper)
  • 17 July – Submission of peer reviewed papers
  • 14 August – Notify of acceptance of peer reviewed pending any required revisions
  • 28 August – Submission of updated peer reviewed papers
  • 20-21 September – 2017 Eportfolio Forum

Proposal themes and sub-theme:

Proposals should fit into one or more of the following conference themes and sub-themes.  Those proposals not fitting into these themes should provide an explanation of how the proposal supports the overall event theme of “Owning, supporting and sharing the journey”.

You will be asked to explain how your proposal meets the conference theme and selected sub-theme(s), and the learning outcomes for participants of your proposal as part of the submission process.

CONFERENCE THEMES:

  • Owning – Helping individuals own their skills, knowledge, evidence and capabilities through eportfolios
  • Supporting – Supporting effective eportfolio use by students, staff, and institutions, as well as, individuals and professionals
  • Sharing – Sharing and showcasing evidence and the learning journey, as well as research and good practice

A Roadmap to learning: Charting and mapping the learning journey

How eportfolios support:

  • Moving beyond being a student
  • Ownership, showcasing and sharing the learning journey  
  • Growth, continuous improvement and development
  • Storytelling, professional narrative and meta-learning – Building and maintaining your story
  • Best practice and evidence for the future

Evidencing the learning journey

How eportfolios support:

  • Promote, prove and improve people’s practice
  • Evidence-based practice and quality outcomes
  • Accreditation vs Self regulation
  • Collecting and adapting your living eportfolio story

Learning and teaching

How eportfolios support:

  • Better teaching and better learning
  • People-centred learning approaches and capacity development
  • Collaboration and peer work
  • Giving and receiving better feedback
  • Measuring the impact of ePortfolio – how can we do this?

Career development, accreditation and registration

How eportfolios support:

  • Adapting evidence to meet outcomes and to meet current and future career needs
  • Improving people’s careers
  • Academic and professional staff requirements
  • Planning to meet skills gaps
