SYNOPSIS

Following the success of the first webinar, ePortfolio practice and enhanced learning for Australian Tertiary Students, and the second , Strengthening IT assisted teaching and learning for staff using ePortfolio with Australian tertiary students this third in the series will look at the design and assessment behind ePortfolio process and practice in Australian higher education.

This third webinar (in a series of professional development for Australian tertiary staff) focuses on the assessemnt issues relating to ePortfolio products and the learning and teaching design for collecting and classifying evidence in the ePortfolio product. It explores various issues such as what is evidence and what will the accrediting bodies accept as evidence; how should evidence be used to make assessment judgements; and what are common assessment practices implemented.  The webinar will explore already used formats and give examples that will assist in describing what you require to students.

The purpose of the ePortfolio process and product is often lost as stduents spend time learning the technology not the discipline so the question may be about how we reverse that? The webinar will explore some digital stories that aim to prompt robust discussion in your own institution about this topic.

This FREE Webinar is a great way to learn more about planning for ePortfolio, evidence and common assessment issues. It is designed to support the on-going professional learning of Australian tertiary teachers who are using the ePortfolio in their teaching practice and for those starting to think about using ePortfolios. Experienced educators will share their knowledge of assessment successes and challenges of implementing ePortfolio into degree programs and individual units of study.
